Margin Is Key in a Crazy World

Perhaps you’ve noticed that life continues to be “crazy”. This is due to continued uncertainty in the world and a hectic pace which is accelerating as more and more opens up, post pandemic.  I realize not all readers are there yet, but things will open up for everyone eventually. By contrast, the past 15 months have allowed for some great reflection on how to live life in a pace that honors God and honors our limitations. And living in this fashion starts with margin.

The Issue:

I’m defining margin as having enough time, energy, mental space and finances to live the life God has for me to live. If there is no margin, there is no mission. I’m sure that you, like me, experience frustration when your desire to move forward toward a goal, dream and outcome are strong but there doesn’t seem to be the margin to do so. Or we feel that God has something more for us, but we’re stuck, and clarity eludes us.

Let’s Unpack This:

Creating margin begins with taking time with God, for self-care and healing. You might be curious about this list but what I’ve seen is:

  • Tapping into God’s unlimited resources, and trusting that if I live like He leads, He will provide what I need and often more.
  • If I don’t address self-care and healing, my desires and unmet needs will create beliefs that drive my behavior which keeps me running in circles or even to destructive outcomes. This is me living beyond my limits.

One of the benefits of using the Life IQ Living Tracker is to ensure I’m proactive in addressing both of these points.
