It has been said that if you don’t choose what matters most, someone or something will choose for you. With all the competing demands on our time, we naturally find ourselves dealing with the urgent but often missing what is really important in life. That is, unless you have a plan.

“Embrace what is meaningful, and you will find clarity amidst the chaos.”

The Way Out: What can help you get off the hamster wheel, and do what matters, is to create a framework to order your calendar. Doing this will ensure that you pay attention each day to what matters, moving towards the life you really want.

Here are four areas to start with:

  • Self-care / Soul-care / Personal Growth. This includes time to rest and renew.
  • People – plan time to connect with the people that play an important role in your life.
  • Projects – identify, and schedule, the important goals and projects that you want to accomplish in the next 60 to 90 days.
  • Loose Ends – this is the time to address your To Do List, run errands, respond to e-mail or phone calls, etc.  Too often we find ourselves overwhelmed by this area to the detriment of the prior areas.

I’ve been integrating this strategy into my week and it’s paying off! By the way, this strategy is taken from a program I’ve recently been certified in called the REALIFE Process®. The REALIFE Process® is a proven framework that will help you do what matters as you learn to live from rest, not rush. It allows you to develop a unique, Modern Day Rule of Life™ through self-discovery, 90-day projects, time management, and spiritual practices.

So what about you? Which of the four areas will you focus on to start doing what matters this week? Feel free to schedule a free, no strings attached, 30-minute call if you would like to get help with managing your time or to learn more about the REALIFE Process®. No sales. Just help. Promise.
